Today was murder on those poor little ones! With temps soaring to close to 90 by 10am, Sweet Pea just wasn't feeling the desire to play soccer this morning. Instead, she kept asking for water breaks, for snack breaks, and asking us how much longer until she can play baseball. (We told her that she was going to play baseball in the fall when the weather cooled down... I am not sure if she just wasn't into playing soccer today, anymore or if she just wanted the weather to be a bit more kid-friendly).
It was also the last game where all Sweet Pea's siblings were there to watch her. We didn't think that Punk and Peanut were going to be there so originally, we thought that she was never going to have a full crew. But with their dad deciding not to get them until tonight (or tomorrow), everyone got to watch Sweet Pea sweat.
She didn't do too badly either, all things considered. She played her little heart out during warm up and then wilted. But she did perk up a bit with the promise of a brownie if she scored a goal (which she didn't.... but she still got her treat).
Its hard for me to believe that we only have one more week of soccer left. Punk's season finished in May and now Sweet Pea's will finish in June. Then we are sports free for the summer! It will be nice not to have the rush of making games but at the same time, I am already looking forward to juggling Punk and Sweet Pea's sports schedules for the fall.
