Today was a big day for us. For one, Sweet Pea had her first ever set of sports pictures done. First, but I am assuming not last. Second, it was the first time that we had ever paid for pouty, temper-tantrumy pictures of our little drama queen. Sweet Pea normally LOVES the camera but apparently, she only really likes it if its a female behind the camera. Not males. Live and learn, I guess. Team shot should be just as interesting to see since one of her teammates ran away and hid all together, one refused to leave his mom's arms and then my beautiful scowling daughter right in the center. *sigh* Poor hubby also gets a special "thank you for coaching" picture included of him and a seemingly grouchy Sweet Pea. Thankfully, we know the truth.
And the truth is that she REALLY loves her soccer! She is flourishing being on a team with *ahem* mainly a bunch of little boys. She loves that her daddy is one of her coaches. She loves that she got to pick the team name "Raptors".... and she loves the most that she will be leaving soccer in the fall for baseball. A girl of many interests is our Sweet Pea.
Today was game 2 (of 4) and for the second game in a row... Sweet Pea made a goal! Last game, she had one assist and one goal (done during a break though lol) but today's game, she broke away from the pack to make this score:
So very proud of her!
In fact, it was the "secret surprise" coming tonight that I think fueled her game today. What surprise is that? I will be sure to share tomorrow.
